----- Original Message ----- From: Bill and Nancy Clark To: cayuga@roadrunner.com Sent: Friday, May 17, 2002 12:31 PM Subject: Civil War Veterans Hi: My name is Bill Clark and I've been enjoying your site. I find three names of Civil War Veterans missing from your data. My ggrandmother Rosetta Youngs Thompson had three brothers who all died as a result of the war. They were also the sons of David Thompson. Hudson Thompson b. 30 Dec 1830 Sempronius, was killed at Gettysburg. I have found his marked grave there with other members of the NY 111th Vols and photographed it. It is one of the few with a name. Julius Thompson b. 1 Sept. 1841, Sempronius, was apparently captured and died in a prison camp at Bayou Boef, LA. I'm having trouble verifying this. Sobeski Thompson b. 15 May 1843, Sempronius, died in Camp Douglas in Chicago. His remains were returned and he is buried in the Searls or Cleveland Cemetery in Sempronius with his mother Rosetta.
I really would like to see their names added to your site if possible. Thank
You, |
From: Deborah Plugh [mailto:dplugh@blazepromos.com] Edwin Chapman Bowen. Born 24 May 1831 in Springport. Died 12 October 1902 in Springport. Edwin and Marie are buried in Chestnut Hill Cemetery. Military: He mustered out as a Captain in the NYS 179th Infantry regiment, Company I in July of 1865 |
