Soule Cemetery

In the mid 1960's a group of local historians and members of the Owasco, NY Chapter of the DAR compiled a 10 volume listing of Cayuga County , NY cemetery records. These books generally cite the name and date (or year) of death as referenced in actual cemetery records or as transcribed from cemetery headstones. Copies of these 1960s cemetery index volumes are available for research in the Local History Room of Seymour Public Library, The Cayuga County Historian's Office and Luther Research Center at the Cayuga-Owasco Lakes Historical Society.  The listings on this website page came from that 1960s burial inventory. Thus, these listings may not display burials after about 1962.

In the mid 1960's a group of local historians and members of the Owasco,
NY Chapter of the DAR compiled a 10 volume listing of Cayuga County , NY
cemetery records. These books generally cite the name and date (or year)
of death as referenced in actual cemetery records or as transcribed from cemetery
headstones. Copies of these 1960s cemetery index volumes are available for research
in the Local History Room of Seymour Public Library, The Cayuga County
Historian's Office and Luther Research Center at the Cayuga-Owasco Lakes
Historical Society.  The listings on this website page came from that 1960s burial inventory.
Thus, these listings may not display burials after about 1962.  For
more information about Soule Cemetery records contact the Auburn NY Municipal Public
Works Dept. Cemetery Divisions.  See their website at:

Subject: Correction for Soule

I found an error for the Doty family in Soule Cemetery:

The daughter of Baxter and Sarah Doty could not have been born before her parents, haha.  Baxter and Sarah were married in 1843, so this child much have been born in 1846.  Perhaps enough of the date has disappeared to make it look like a 1, or there was an error on the transcriber’s part.

Just thought I would let you know so you could maybe add a correction email notice to the bottom of the page.

Thanks,
Jessica
