CAYUGA LAKE BURIAL
A - top bluff on land owned by the Lehigh Valley R.R. formerly part of the
Carter-Husted farm. The spot is on the high ground just north of the mouth
of the creek which flows thru Carter Gully , so named on a topographical
map of the area. According to local tradition , the first white child to
die in Ledyard was buried here. The only remaining evidence is a small upright
slab of field-stone and some snowberry bushes.
