Wardwell Family Cemetery

Located about 1200 feet north of the road on the Harold Giles Farm. Plot is 30' x 30' , enclosed by a woven wire fence in good condition. There is no gate in the fence , which is supported by eight limestone posts , said to be mowed once a year by someone from Auburn. A large monument 8' tall has the following inscriptions:

WARDWELL , MORGAN G.	D. DEC. 13, 1885 75Y-5M-18D
WARDWELL , CAROLINE	D. SEPT. 5, 1875 57Y-11M-27D
WARDWELL , CAROLINE A.  dau. of M. & C. 
			D. MAY 24, 1870 20Y-4M-23D

Small carved stone " In Memory of Delilah " wife of David T. Wardwell who died Sept. 16, 1836

A slab with no dates containing :
D.A., D.T.W., M.G.W., C.A.W., J.W.D.

GREEN , JANET W. wife of Rob't                                 D. JAN. 15, 1842 20 YRS.

PAINES CREEK CEMETERY

Located near the east bank of Paines Creek on the David Stoner Farm. Only a grave stone remains, an unmarked slab. A local resident remembers seeing a marked stone here 27 years ago. It was flat on the ground then. It is believed to have been inscribed with the date " 1804 ". this monument has not been found.
